Wednesday Women's Brown Bag Book Club

Bring your own bagged lunch and join us for the following book discussions this summer.   Come even if you haven't read the books.....the discussions will be of universal topics that anyone can follow and share in.....or just
come to find out about a book you may want to read in the future.....and of course come for the fellowship.

  • June 14th: Book title:  Coaltown Jesus by Ron Koertge, in this book Walker's mother is devastated by the loss of his brother, Noah.  When Walker prays for "whoever" is up there to help his mother, he finds Jesus
standing in the center of his bedroom.  Did Jesus really come to Coaltown, Illinois to answer Walker's  prayer?
  • June 28th:  Book title: A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park (based on a true story)    Two young people.....two stories....one country: Sudan.   This dual narrative follows two threads -  one unfolding in 2008, the other in 1985 -   with one hopeful message:  that even in a troubled country, determined survivors may find the future they are hoping for.
  • July 19th:  Book title: Christmas Jars by Jason Wright.......enjoy a little "Christmas in July" with this heart warming Christmas tale.  Meet Hope Jensen, a young single woman who spends her Christmas Eve's at Chuck's Chicken 'n' Biscuit.   How does a much-needed anonymous Christmas gift change her life?
